WTF Is the Subjunctive?

Verbs in the subjunctive mood express a doubtful condition or one that is contrary to fact. It shows up in the "if" part of conditional clauses, as well as in certain clauses that are introduced by verbs of demanding, wishing, doubting or regretting, followed by "that." Like, "I wish that you were my wife." Please, don't participate in the death of the subjunctive.
